About Us,
In 2001 our little Golden Cocker Spaniel “Belle’ had a seizure. Her entire body stiffened as she collapsed to the floor, legs splayed in all directions, crying. Belle had Cardiomyopathy. Her little heart was out-growing her body.
After visiting the Veterinarian, we found Belle needed a special diet and could only have special treats. Special meant organic, no additives, no salt. We traveled from pet store to pet store. Did countless research online and found we’d have to either make our own treats and food, which we did or special order everything. The few pet stores we found that carried food or treats of this nature were at least an hour away from our home.
Early on a Sunday morning in January 2004, Belle past away, her buddy “Chance”, a Lab/Chow mix and his humans were lost.
Two months of watching Chance mope around the house collecting all of Belle’s favorite toys and moving them from room to room. Proved to be too much for us, so we contacted a cocker spaniel rescue program and adopted our little red Cocker “Gracie”. Gracie quickly became a special part of our family. Being younger then Chance and healthier then Belle ever was, she ran us ragged.
Unfortunately, we were back to square one with the food. With two healthy dogs, we no longer need to make our own dog food. So once again the search was on for healthy food to feed them. The commercial foods produced in mass quantities for Supermarkets and Pet Supermarkets were not up to the quality we were looking for. Eventually we found a producer of quality dog food that was not filled with corn byproducts and fillers that would deliver the food to our home.
Even with the food issue settled my wife and I spent much time wishing for a place were we could shop for the dogs that had everything we needed, one stop. Slowly it became not just one stop for food and treats, but also for grooming. Then, not just food treats and grooming, but self services wash. Then not just food, treats, grooming and a self service wash station, but day care.
In the memory of our Little Golden Cocker “Belle”, we opened “Chance & Belle’s Pampered Paws”. Featuring Grooming, Self Service Wash, day care and an assortment of foods and treats all organic or human grade.
At Chance & Belle’s Pampered Paws, if we don’t give it to our dogs, you won’t find it.
